Our endowment fund is designed to serve the church in perpetuity.  Gifts to the endowment build the fund principal.  Income from the invested principal is used to support the maintenance of our building so that tithes and offering can go further to serve our ministry.

The endowment is managed by a committee which is currently lead by Kim Jolley.  You can reach Kim at kimajolley@gmail.com.  The committee consists of the following members: chairpersons of the Administrative Board, Finance and Stewardship, a designated member from the Board of Trustees, three members at large chosen by the Charge Conference, the Senior Pastor and the Senior Church Treasurer.

To contribute to the endowment, checks can made out the Bethel UMC and specified as “endowment”.  Online giving also works the same way.

A few past projects that the endowment has supported include:  steeple and columns renovation,  organ overhaul, new exterior doors, day care upgrades for codes compliance,  restroom renovation, Fellowship Hall carpet and parlor flooring.

The fund is managed by the South Carolina United Methodist Foundation.

The asset allocation of the fund is approximately 65% cash and fixed income and 35% equities (mutual funds).

We are now accepting grant requests through March 16, 2022.
