“I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me..”
(Phillipians 4:13 World English Bible)
Bethel Women in Faith is a supportive, inclusive Christian membership organization where women can grow spiritually, develop as leaders and serve and work to create a world in which all women, children, and youth thrive. Bethel has six Circles which meet at various times throughout the year, each one with a different mission emphasis for the year, along with combined missions as a Unit.
There are two general meetings a year, along with regularly scheduled Board Meetings involving all Circles. Our fundraisers include: Bake Sale-Frozen Feast-Vendor Party and Lunches after church.
Our members nurture one another in community and support local, conference, and global mission projects to improve the lives of women, children, and youth around the world.
As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10
We are excited to be entering a new season and the start of a new year for UMW. For those who have never been a member of a Circle, or maybe it’s been awhile since you were an active Circle member, we invite you to look at our different circles…. We have something for everyone!
Being a circle member places you with other women who grow together spiritually and seek ways to give, serve, and bless others. Our missions are local, conference, and global. Our fundraisers give opportunities for all of us to work together for a common goal. Please look at Bethel’s UMW bulletin board for a list of Circles, meeting times, and leaders. Contact any of us for more information. We would love to have YOU in UMW!
Communication: Please take note of the upcoming events and the calendar on the bulletin board. Along with emails from your leaders, you can also check FB and the UMW bulletin board to keep up with events in our unit, district, and our conference. If there are Circle announcements or information you would like in the newsletter, on the board, or on social media, please let Jan know.
UMW FYI: From the beginning United Methodist women’s predecessor organizations: 1. focused on the needs of women, children, and youth; 2. came out of the missionary tradition; 3. always raised their own funds; 4. approached mission in a holistic way, integrating spirituality, study, leadership development, and advocacy; and 5. despite resistance at times, United Methodist Women now has the authority to organize groups in the local church and is the official women’s organization of the United Methodist Church.
UMW FYI: What We DON’T Fund – Projects and programs that don’t benefit women, children, and youth. Projects and programs that do not comply with the social principles and Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church. Programs administered by organizations that discriminate based on faith, ethnicity, race, or gender.
