A special session of the General Conference of the United Methodist Church was called by the Council of Bishops.  It was held February 23-26, 2019 in St. Louis, Missouri.  Its purpose was to act on a report from the Commission on a Way Forward which was created and tasked with examining the Book of Discipline regarding human sexuality and exploring ways to strengthen church unity. While the Traditional Plan was passed, the Judicial Council must decide on the constitutionality of the plan.  This decision will probably be made at its next meeting in April. Message from our Ministerial Staff

On Tuesday a special called General Conference of the United Methodist Church made the decision to move forward with the Traditional Plan. This decision has left a group of people grateful and this decision has also left a group of people hurt.

Regardless of where you find yourself with the decision, know that we here at Bethel United Methodist love you. It’s that same love that propels us to continue to desire to see hearts and lives transformed for God.

Our Mission and Vision will remain the same. Hymns and praise music will be sung, children will laugh and grow in children’s ministry, youth will explore the gospel message and the word of God will be proclaimed as we are inspired to create and send disciples of Christ. Our hope is that you would join us in this mission.

Please join us in prayer as we continue to ask for God’s will to be done through Bethel church, in our denomination and in the kingdom of God.
