At Bethel UMC, our youth ministry is all about growing in faith, building real friendships, and having a ton of fun along the way. We believe our middle and high school students aren’t just the future of the church — they’re a vital part of God’s work right now!
Wednesday Night Youth
Wednesdays | 6:30 PM
Wednesday is the highlight of the week for our students! Led by our Youth Director, Chad Deetz, Wednesday nights are packed with energy, laughter, and meaningful moments of faith. We start with student-led worship, dive into God’s Word with practical and relatable Bible lessons, and wrap up the night with games and time to connect with friends.
It’s the perfect midweek boost: a place to recharge, grow closer to God, and hang out with people who care about you.
D-Groups (Discipleship Groups)
Sundays | 5:30–7:00 PM
D-Groups are where faith gets personal! Each week, students gather for a snack supper (just $5 per person – includes sides and drinks), followed by games or worship as a large group. Then we break into smaller, age-based groups for deeper conversation and learning.
Each group explores the same core topic but at a level that connects with where students are in life. It’s a time to ask honest questions, share experiences, and discover what it really means to live out your faith together.
Youth Summers
Youth summers are always packed with energy, laughter, and meaningful moments for our youth!
Typical summers include Weekly Chad Chats and Hang Days that keep everyone connected, while special outings add extra excitement. Typical outings: cheering on the Spartanburgers at the ballpark, movie nights, bucket golf, an overnight lock-in, or a fun-filled day at Carowinds, etc. Our students also serve faithfully by helping with Children’s Vacation Bible School and grow deeper in faith and friendship through the Youth Beach Retreat, Mission Trip, and/or Team Survival Challenge.
There is always something happening to keep our youth engaged, growing, and building community together. Come visit us. There’s a place for you in Bethel’s Youth Ministry.
